PTT Thailand Open 7 –13 June 2011

p1000839After the 1999 FESPIC Games, this is the second time I go to Thailand for table tennis tournament.

Although it is the first time for Thailand to hold a PTT competition, it is very impressing that the OC of Thailand really tries its very best to held a good competition.  The hotel’s room is very spacious despite it looks a little bit old.  The volunteer is very friendly and helpful in assisting the coaches and athletes.  They are very efficient to complete the task or improve the condition when being raised out.  Tmedal_067he transportation is the best as the driver is very eager to send you to the venue or back to the hotel when you make the request at any time even though you are the only one.  Relatively speaking the meals is not so good as the choice of dishes at hotel is not much and the lunch box is too little.

The venue is alright except that we need to climb up the ramps every time when we go inside the hall.  With good standard umpires, the competition runs smoothly.  The most amazing is the medal ceremony since national flags are used during the prize presentation.  It is not a usual practice for a 20 factor tournament to act like this.p1000830

Thailand is indeed my fortune place.  In 1999 FESPIC Games I captured one gold, one silver and one bronze.  This time I captured one gold and one bronze and gained many points.  My road to London 2012 comes close!
